New Idaho SAT scores a mixed bag, better in reading, writing than math

Idaho’s new SAT scores are in, and the scores on the college-entrance exam are a mixed bag, reports Idaho Education News. Students taking the exam in April – Idaho pays for all students to take the SAT – posted an average score of 511 on the reading and writing portion of the test, on a scale that runs from 200 to 800, the State Department of Education said today. That means 62 percent met the exam’s college- and career-readiness benchmark. But math scores came in at an average of 491, with only 35 percent of students hitting the college-readiness benchmark in that area. EdNews reporter Kevin Richert has a full report here.
