Denney proposing Sunshine Law changes, including increasing penalties

Idaho Secretary of State Lawerence Denney is proposing a series of changes to Idaho’s sunshine laws – including increasing penalties for violations from $250 to $2,500 – that at least initially are drawing positive reviews, reports Melissa Davlin of Idaho Public Televisions’s “Idaho Reports.” Davlin, on the program’s blog site, writes that Denney outlined the proposed changes during an orientation session for new Idaho legislators this week; you can read her full report here.

Denney told Davlin he plans to propose the changes during the upcoming 2017 legislative session; he’ll be shopping the proposed changes around to lawmakers in the coming weeks.
