Denney certifies instant racing repeal into law, ISP working on enforcement plan
Idaho Secretary of State Lawerence Denney certified the law banning slot machine-like “instant racing” machines first thing this morning, following yesterday’s Idaho Supreme Court ruling that the machines are illegal in Idaho. The court held that Gov. Butch Otter's belated attempt to veto the repeal legislation was invalid. Idaho State Police spokeswoman Teresa Baker said in an email, “We are working with legal counsel to determine the timeline and process to enforce the Supreme Court's ruling.” The ISP will have an announcement when it's finalized its enforcement plan, she said.
