State to waive inspection fees for those rebuilding from North-Central Idaho wildfires

Gov. Butch Otter announced today that he’s signed an executive order waiving inspection fees for state electrical, plumbing and HVAC permits for reconstruction of commercial and residential buildings damaged by this year’s wildfires in Clearwater, Idaho and Lewis counties. “Now that residents and business owners have moved beyond the assessment phase and are into the rebuilding phase, I want to assure them the state is doing what it can to ease the financial burden,” Otter said in a statement. “By waiving these fees, residents impacted in these counties can begin putting their lives back together in the aftermath of an extremely destructive fire season.”

Dozens of homes and other buildings burned in the wildfires in north-central Idaho. State Division of Building Safety Administrator C. Kelly Pearce said, "We are committed to assisting these folks rapidly and with an absolute minimum amount of red tape." There’s more info here, including who to contact to apply for the fee waivers.
