Senate assigns big tax bill to Transportation Committee…

After the House passed three bills on transportation and taxes today, HB 310, 311 and 312, the Senate has assigned all three to the Senate Transportation Committee – including HB 311, the measure that would eliminate the sales tax on groceries, do away with the grocery tax credit, lower top income tax rates while raising one in the middle, and raise the gas tax. In the House, HB 311 came through the Revenue & Taxation Committee, not Transportation. You can read my full story here at spokesman.com on today’s House passage of the bill.
