Eye On Boise

Two more rounds of arrests today in ‘Add the 4 Words’ protests…

A second group of nine protesters was arrested around 11 a.m. today, again blocking the entrances to the Legislature's bill drafting office, and a third group of seven just now, doing the same; all are pushing for consideration of legislation to add the words "sexual orientation" and "gender identity" to the Idaho Human Rights Act. The bill was heard earlier this session, then killed on a party-line vote, as opponents said they'd consider a compromise that also included protections for religious freedom; no compromise bill has been introduced, however.
