Lawmakers decline to fund third-party audit for treasurer to replace regular state audit of investment pools
Legislative budget writers have declined to fund a $60,000 third-party audit for the Idaho State Treasurer’s office to replace the usual legislative audit in looking in detail at two investment pools, saying a newly appointed investment advisory board for the treasurer’s office should have a chance to discuss that issue before that kind of change is made. “They hadn’t met yet,” said Rep. Rick Youngblood, R-Nampa. He said the audit process shouldn’t be changed “before they get a chance to talk about it.”
