Appraisal supports CWI’s Boise land purchase
An appraisal of 10 acres of Boise land acquired by the College of Western Idaho for a Boise campus in April came in at $8.97 million, slightly above the college’s purchase price of $8.8 million, the Idaho Press-Tribune reports. Guy Hurlbutt, vice chairman of the CWI Board of Trustees, said he hopes the board will approach the announcement of land deals differently in the future.
The college came under scrutiny in May, writes Press-Trib reporter Kelcie Moseley, because the county's assessed value of the 10 acres owned by the Rice Family Partnership for property tax purposes was $3.6 million, but the college agreed on a purchase price of $8.8 million. The original asking price was $10 million. Her full report is online here.
