Judge: Idaho owes $930K for winning party’s legal fees in IEN case
Idaho owes more than $930,000 in legal fees to Syringa Networks, the company that successfully sued to overturn the $60 million contract for the now-defunct Idaho Education Network. That’s according to a June 30 ruling from 4th District Judge Patrick Owen, reports Kevin Richert of Idaho Education News; the state’s lawyers are disputing the amount and have filed an appeal.
Richert reports that the state already has spent more than $625,000 on its own legal fees, for outside counsel, in the same case. You can read his full report here.
