Crowd turns out for Health & Welfare listening session

There’s a substantial crowd this morning for the listening session on Health & Welfare programs. “We have both House and Senate members of our committees here, and most importantly we have many of you here who we really are excited to hear from this morning,” said Senate Health & Welfare Committee Chairman Lee Heider.

He said he’ll be calling up people from out of town first, and there will be a 3-minute time limit. “We will not ask you questions, nor will we respond to your testimonies – this is an information gathering session,” Heider said. He said the lawmakers want to “hear as many stores and as many people’s experiences as possible.”

Added House Health & Welfare Chairman Fred Wood, “We are interested in what you have to say, so please be respectful and tell us what you’re thinking.” You can watch the session live online here.
