Groups aiding fire victims seek donations
The Idaho Bureau of Homeland Security has sent out a list of relief organizations helping victims of wildfires across Idaho, which are seeking cash donations. “While we understand and deeply appreciate the intentions behind donations of food, citizens are being encouraged to donate cash,” said Jerry Zumalt, Idaho County’s disaster management coordinator, in the BHS release. “That’s because food items are perishable and storage and distribution logistics are complicated in times of crisis like this. We won’t turn people away but we strongly encourage citizens to donate cash.”
