Otter signs 10 bills, including abortion restrictions, open labor negotiations
Gov. Butch Otter has signed 10 bills into law this morning, all House bills. They include 154a, a controversial measure to add new restrictions on abortions that are performed via medication, rather than surgery; HB 167a, removing the Idaho Open Meeting Law’s exemption for labor negotiations; and HB 304, the budget for the state’s community colleges for next year, which reflects a 3 percent increase in state funding, double Otter’s original recommendation of a 1.5 percent increase.
