Otter says he vetoed SB 1011 on Friday, not Sat., and it was shown Fri. to Sen. Hill
The governor’s office says that Gov. Butch Otter actually vetoed SB 1011, the instant racing repeal bill, on Friday afternoon around 2:45 p.m., not on Saturday, which was the deadline. Asked if Otter then presented the bill to the Senate or anyone in the Senate, Jon Hanian, Otter’s press secretary, said, “There was nobody up there in the Senate.” But, he said, “It’s my understanding that the pro tem did see it,” sometime on Friday, Hanian said. “He was shown it.”
