Ward taps Otter and Kempthorne - that’s Lori Otter and Patricia Kempthorne

1st District GOP congressional candidate Vaughn Ward has announced that Lori Otter - Idaho's current first lady - and Patricia Kempthorne, a past Idaho first lady, will co-chair his "Republican Women for Ward" group, which Ward said now has more than 300 members. Said Ward, “These remarkable women have done many wonderful things for the state of Idaho during their careers and I appreciate their help as we reclaim Idaho’s 1st congressional district for the Republican Party.” Ward is running in what's turning into a rather crowded GOP primary contest for a chance to challenge Democratic 1st District Congressman Walt Minnick; you can click below to read his full release on "Republican Women for Ward."

OTTER AND KEMPTHORNE TO SERVE AS STATEWIDE REPUBLICAN WOMEN FOR WARD CO-CHAIRS

Meridian, ID – Idaho 1st congressional district candidate Vaughn Ward announced the appointment of the statewide Republican Women for Ward co-chairs, Lori Otter and Patricia Kempthorne. Otter and Kempthorne will lead this group of over 300 members, mobilizing women to carry Vaughn’s message of fiscal responsibility, national security, and conservative family values throughout Idaho.

“It is not often that we see a candidate for Congress with Vaughn’s qualifications,” said Otter. “Vaughn’s military service demonstrates his deep commitment to our country. Once he is elected, Vaughn will fight to eliminate onerous federal regulations on our small businesses and return important decisions to the state level to ensure a bright future for the people of Idaho. For these reasons, and many more, I strongly support Vaughn to be our next congressman.”

“As Republican women, we care deeply about Idaho and our nation,” said Kempthorne. “We’re closely monitoring the important issues that are being debated in Congress, from health care reform and funding for education to social issues and taxes. Idaho needs a voice in these critical debates and it’s largely up to women to make sure that Idahoans elect Vaughn Ward as our voice in Congress. Vaughn will ensure that Idaho’s conservative values are represented in decisions that impact our nation’s future.”

"I am honored to have Lori and Patricia serving as statewide co-chairs for the Republican Women for Ward coalition,” said Ward. “These remarkable women have done many wonderful things for the state of Idaho during their careers and I appreciate their help as we reclaim Idaho’s 1st congressional district for the Republican Party.”

Building on the success of the inaugural event, Vaughn Ward will be speaking at the next Republican Women for Ward luncheon on March 27th, 2010 at 11:30 a.m. at the Bent Fork Bar and Grill, located at 2805 Blaine Street in Caldwell.
