Netflix gives you a look ‘Inside the Mind of a Cat’

Over my adult life, I’ve had a number of house pets. And the cats have far outnumbered the dogs (not to mention fish).

Sorry, bird-owners. No feathers for me.

Not to disparage dogs, either. I love walking in, say, Manito Park and greeting all the dogs (mostly on leashes) that come trotting by. That includes those that look like small ponies and those that look like giant mice.

But I prefer cats. Which is why I’m interested in the Netflix documentary “Inside the Mind of a Cat,” which began streaming Thursday.

“Netflix’s latest documentary film, ‘Inside the Mind of a Cat’ is exactly what it says on the tin,” says one reviewer. “This doc dives into the mind of a cat, with cat physiologists and scientists discussing why felines are such interesting animals and what makes them so unique.”

I’m in. Maybe I’ll learn what causes my cat to turn her nose up to the kind of food that, just the day before, she devoured as if she were a teenage boy chomping on a pepperoni pizza.

Fancy Feast, indeed.
