Join Debbie Macomber for a Christmas romance

It’s December already, which means two things: One, in a couple of weeks, the days will be getting longer; two, four days after that, Christmas will arrive.

Those longer day and shorter nights can’t come quickly enough for me. As for Christmas, I’ve seeing holiday lights all over since Halloween.

2020 has been that kind of year. We’re all hoping for some sort of distraction.

Auntie’s Bookstore in particular has been doing its part, both offering in-store and drop-off service for book-buyers but also periodic Zoom events with authors.

The store’s last such event for the year will occur at 7 p.m. on Saturday when a pair of authors, one a noted best-selling writer, will engage in an online discussion.

The better-known participant will be Debbie Macomber, the Port Orchard-based writer of some 13 novels that have hit No. 1 on the New York Times best-seller list.

Macomber’s latest romance release is “Jingle All the Way.”

The other participant will be Jamie Ford, whose latest novel is “Songs of Willow Frost.”

Note: Purchase of Macomber’s novel is required for access to the virtual event.

But take heart: Even if you’re not in the market for a romance novel, you likely know someone who is.

And that’s one less Christmas gift you’ll have to purchase.
