Because life’s too short to drink crappy beer

It's Friday night. Do you know where your fun is? There's a good chance you'll find it at Bottles, a friendly little beer & wine shop in Millwood. The staff are super approachable, so even if you're a person with very simple tastes (like me, who buys beer and wine according to whether or not I like the label), you feel comfortable.

Bottles hosts ocasional free tastings, each one featuring both beer and wine, making it easy to kiss your pretentious "I don't do wine" excuses good-bye and belly up to their tasting bar.

Tonight's tasting runs from 5-8, with featured brews from the folks at Oskar Blues Brewery, a Colorado outfit recognized for ingeniously filling 12-oz. cans with award-winning craft brews. As in, beers that pack a serious wallop in both dimensional flavor and alcohol content. Drop in for a swig of Old Chub Scottish Ale, Dale's Pale Ale, Ten Fidy Imperial Stout, Gordon Ale and Mama's Little Yella Pils.

And while you're there, check out the Barnard Griffin Syrah and Castle Rock Merlot -- both will be opened for tasting tonight.

Oh, and, as if you needed yet another reason to check it out ... tonight's munchines will be provided by the Longhorn Barbecue.

Beer. Wine. Food. Life is good. Cheers.
