John Dalmas: Let the protesters wail on

Got an e-mail from Spokane science-fiction author John Dalmas this morning. He’s enjoying the reaction to his new novel, “The Second Coming,” especially those whose knee-jerk reaction is to dislike anything that doesn’t fit into their narrow definition of religion. “The unfavorable reader reviews are actually valuable:” John wrote. “They'll turn aside most ‘born agains’ (in the usual Christian sense) and other Christians with low tolerance for ‘wrong-headedness,’ saving them the upset. Except perhaps for the chronically indignant, who may enjoy the delicious indignation.”

By the way, other than Auntie's Bookstore, Spokane-area bookstores seem to be carrying only a few copies of John's book. That's shameful. It's all the more reason why some of us do a lot of our book-buying online.
