Gonzaga commits Anton Watson and Drew Timme nominated for McDonald’s All-American game

Future Gonzaga Bulldogs Anton Watson and Drew Timme have been nominated for the 2019 McDonald’s All-American game.

Watson, a 6-foot-8 senior forward at Gonzaga Prep, is one of 11 nominees from Washington. He was named AP state player of the year last season while leading the Bullpups to a 27-0 record and a State 4A championship. He was voted Most Valuable Player of the state tournament after averaging 21.9 points.

Timme, a 6-10 post at J.J. Pearce High in Richardson, Texas, averaged 27.7 points, 17.9 rebounds and 4.3 assists last season. Timme averaged 14.9 points and 8.8 rebounds with Drive Nation on the AAU summer circuit. Timme is one of 15 players nominated from Texas.

Watson committed to Gonzaga in June 2017. Timme committed shortly after visiting Gonzaga in November. Watson is No. 55 and Timme No. 60 in ESPN.com’s top 100 for the 2019 recruiting class.

More than 800 boys and girls received nominations. The final teams will be announced Jan. 24.
