Missing man’s body found in Ferry County

The Ferry County Sheriff’s Office is investigating the death of a man who went missing near Republic last week.

The Sheriff’s Office posted a photo and description of John Kidwell, 53, on Facebook Wednesday, asking anyone who had seen him to contact their office. A body was found Sunday afternoon on Old Swan Lake Road near Republic and later identified as Kidwell, according to a second Facebook post.

The Coroner’s Office and the Sheriff’s Office are investigating the circumstances of Kidwell’s death. A Ferry County dispatcher said the office has no other information at this time.
