It may be a drizzly morning, but it’s always the perfect weather for ice cream.

Today, from noon to 8 p.m., stop by the Ben and Jerry’s at Riverpark Square and Northern Quest Resort and Casino for a free cone as part of Free Cone Day.

Donations received at the Riverpark Square location will help Mobius Children’s Museum and Science Center provide STEM experiences to the Boys and Girls Clubs in the Inland Northwest.

Donations received at the Northern Quest location will benefit Operation Spokane Heroes, which provides support for local military personnel and their families.

Free Cone Day started in 1979 in Ben and Jerry’s native Vermont and now spans the globe. According to a press release, the company will give away more than a million scoops of ice cream today.

“It’s amazing what we can do together over shared values and several scoops of ice cream,” Kari Conner, owner of Ben and Jerry’s of Spokane, said in a press release.
