Gonzaga’s Killian Tillie misses Michigan State scrimmage with injury
Gonzaga wasn’t at full strength in Saturday’s closed scrimmage against Michigan State.
Junior forward Killian Tillie sat out with an injury. The nature of Tillie’s injury wasn’t known. The Zags hope the 6-foot-10 native of France doesn’t miss any games. GU has an exhibition game Thursday against Central Washington before opening the regular season Nov. 6 against Idaho State.
Tillie played in 36 games, starting 35, last year before missing the loss to Florida State in the Sweet 16 with a hip injury. He averaged 12.9 points and made 47.9 percent on 3-pointers.
Gonzaga’s frontcourt was productive against the Spartans as Rui Hachimura had 19 points, Brandon Clarke 14 and Filip Petrusev 11.
The Zags downed the Spartans 52-46 and 58-46 in two separate halves. Corey Kispert scored a team-high 24 points, Zach Norvell Jr. added 22 and Josh Perkins had 13 assists.
