Girls soccer: Mackenzie Letsch scores twice, including game-winner, North Central beats Kennewick

Mackenzie Letsch scored twice, including the game-winner in the 67th minute, and fourth-seeded North Central (6-8-0) defeated fifth-seeded Kennewick (6-10-0) 3-2 in a District 8 3A first-round match at Gonzaga Prep HS on Thursday.

North Central advances to play top-seeded Kamiakin on Saturday at noon at Lampson Stadium in Kennewick.

Shadle Park 3, Southridge 2: Katie Benjamin headed in the winner off a corner kick in the 78th minute and the visiting sixth-seeded Highlanders (4-10-1) came back from down 2-0 to edge the third-seeded Suns (9-7-0) in a District 8 3A first-round match.

Shadle Park advances to play second-seeded Mt. Spokane on Saturday at 1 p.m. at Mt. Spokane.

District 7 2A

Cheney 4, Pullman 0: The second-seeded Blackhawks (10-7-0) defeated the fifth-seeded Greyhounds (4-12-1) in a district first-round game.

Cheney advances to host Clarkston on Friday at noon in a semifinal.

Clarkston 2, West Valley 1: Cortney Bogar scored directly off a corner kick in the 69th minute and the fourth-seeded Bantams (8-9-0) eliminated the third-seeded Eagles (9-8-0) in a district first round game at Smith Field.

District 7 1A

Deer Park 2, Colville 0: Emmy Moore and Jessie Thomas found the back of the net and the top-seeded Stags (13-2-1) shutout the fourth-seeded Indians (6-9-1) in a district semifinal at Spokane Falls CC.

Deer Park faces Lakeside on Oct. 30 at 3:30 p.m. at Deer Park HS.

Lakeside (WA) 1, Freeman 0: Jordyn Newman broke a scoreless tie with a goal in the 73rd minute and the second-seeded Eagles (14-3) edged the Scotties (10-7-1) in a district semifinal at Spokane Falls CC.
