Gunshots fired on set of Tekashi 6ix9ine, Kanye West and Nicki Minaj music video
Gunshots were fired during an incident on the Beverly Hills, California, set of a music video for a song by rappers Tekashi 6ix9ine, Kanye West and Nicki Minaj on Thursday.
West and Tekashi were present at the time, but Minaj was not, according to TMZ, which was first to report the ordeal.
No one was injured, and a suspect has not been identified. No arrests have been made.
Beverly Hills police confirmed to the New York Daily News that officials responded to the scene at around 10:25 p.m. local time and determined shots had been fired at a building on the 900 block of North Alpine Drive. They could not, however, confirm any names of the people who were there at the time, or if a music video was being filmed there.
“It’s an ongoing investigation,” Sgt. Eric Olson of the Beverly Hills Police Department told The News.
West and Tekashi69 were inside the building – a mansion in the swanky Beverly Hills neighborhood – when the shots went off, TMZ reported.
Eight shots were reportedly fired, and production for the video has since been ceased.
“Thank you for everyone’s prayers. Our family is safe and close,” West tweeted on Friday, without going into any specifics.
His wife, reality star Kim Kardashian, had revealed Thursday night on her Instagram page that her home was evacuated due to the wildfires affecting Southern California.
The room that was hit in the shooting was intended to be Minaj’s dressing room, according to TMZ. That room originally had been slated to go to Tekashi, according to the report, but he changed those plans the day before.
The song the rappers were recording the music video for is by Tekashi, with West and Minaj being featured acts.
