Prep softball playoffs: Jesse Dupuis tosses no-hitter to lead Mt. Spokane to state

Jesse Dupuis tossed a no-hitter with 15 strikeouts and top-seeded Mt. Spokane (19-3) defeated visiting second-seeded Southridge (10-12) 7-0 in the District 8 3A championship game on Wednesday.

Mt. Spokane advances to the state tournament next weekend at Regional Athletic Complex in Lacey, while Southridge hosts the district second-place game on Friday for a berth to state.

Ashton Cathey went 2 for 2 with four RBIs, including a three-run home run for Mt. Spokane, and Morgan Flesland added a two-run double for the Wildcats.

Kamiakin 7, Rogers 3: Hannah Jablonski went 3 for 4 with three RBI and the fourth-seeded Braves (9-14) eliminated the third-seeded Pirates (8-14) in a District 8 3A loser-out game.

Kamiakin faces Kennewick on Friday at Southridge HS in a loser-out game for a chance to advance to the district second-place game against Southridge.

Gabby Rickman went 2 for 3 with a two-run home run to tie the game in the fourth for Rogers, but Kamiakin added two in the fifth and three in the sixth.

Kennewick 15, Shadle Park 6: Bailey Warren slugged a pair of home runs and the visiting sixth-seeded Lions (12-11) eliminated the fifth-seeded Highlanders (7-14) in a District 8 3A loser-out game.

Meghan Lohr pitched a complete game and drove in a pair of runs for Shadle Park. Meghan Keenan collected three hits.
