GSL baseball: Unbeaten Mt. Spokane turns back Gonzaga Prep
Braden DeSonia rapped a two-run single in the second inning and the Mt. Spokane Wildcats (4-0) posted a 4-1 victory over the visiting Gonzaga Prep Bullpups (2-2) in Greater Spokane League baseball action on Monday. Cole Hattenburg tossed 3 2/3 innings of scoreless relief to get the win.
Mead 3, Central Valley 1: Riley Whelan tossed four scoreless innings and the Panthers (4-0) earned a victory over the visiting Bears (0-4). Austin Reed’s two-run double in the second inning provided the winning margin.
Shadle Park 7, Ferris 5: Dalton Dawson had three hits with two RBIs and the Shadle Park Highlanders (3-1) notched a win over the host Saxons (2-1).
Lewis and Clark 5, Rogers 4: Darrin Blockman scored the go-ahead run on Ryan Schmitz’ fielder’s choice in the fifth inning to guide the Tigers (2-2) over the visiting Pirates (0-4).
