Jamie Loera scored 32 points and No. 4 seed Moses Lake (24-0) stayed undefeated, topping No. 14 seed University (18-9) 71-60 in a state 4A quarterfinal at the Tacoma Dome on Thursday.

Moses Lake faces Central Valley winner in a semifinal on Friday at 3:45 p.m., while University plays Kentlake in the fourth-place bracket on Friday at 9 a.m.

Abby Rathbun had 17 points with nine rebounds for the Chiefs, while Morgan Yamane scored 13.

Ellie Boni led University with 22 points and Claire Dingus added 10.

Loera popped a couple of 3-pointers early and Moses Lake led 15-13 at the end of the first quarter.

Jacey Ramelow and Boni picked up baskets at the start of the second to give University a short-lived lead.

Moses Lake proceeded to go on a 15-1 run, spurred by two more 3-pointers by Loera, to go up 30-18 midway through the second.

Megan Taylor converted a three-point play and Ramelow hit a mid-range jumper near the end of the quarter and UHi trailed 37-26 at intermission.

Dingus – who poured in 28 points with 14 boards in UHi’s elimination win over Bellarmine Prep on Wednesday – didn’t score with two rebounds in the first half.

Dingus scored six points in the third quarter, but the Titans couldn’t bite into the deficit much. Rathbun’s easy layup at the end of the third quarter gave the Chiefs a nine-point lead heading into the final quarter.

Loera made 8 of 11 from the line in the fourth and Yamane added six points – all on layups – as UHi couldn’t manage a sustained run.
