Former Gonzaga guard Silas Melson has signed with Lavrio, the professional team in Greece announced Tuesday.
Melson averaged 9.3 points and 3.1 rebounds last season, helping the Zags (32-5) reach the Sweet 16 for the fourth consecutive year. He is second on Gonzaga’s all-time list with 126 career wins, trailing NCAA record-holder Przemek Karnowski’s 137.
Melson started all 37 games last year. The Portland native’s 2.3 assist-to-turnover ratio ranked second behind teammate Josh Perkins’ 2.5. Melson was second in minutes played at 30.7 per game.
Lavrio was seventh with a 14-12 record in Greece’s A-1 league. Former Zag Kyle Wiltjer finished last season with Olympiacos, which was second with a 22-4 mark.
