The Lovin’ Spoonful’s John Sebastian to perform at Chateau Rive

The year’s not over yet, but it’s not too early to start filling up you 2019 concert calendar.

First up, John Sebastian, founding member of the Lovin’ Spoonful, will headline Chateau Rive at the Flour Mill on Jan. 18.

As the singer/songwriter/guitarist for the Lovin’ Spoonful, Sebastian became known for chart-topping singles like “Do You Believe in Magic?” “Summer in the City,” “Younger Generation,” “Daydream” and “Did You Ever Have to Make Up Your Mind?”/

After leaving the band in 1968, Sebastian continued to stay in the spotlight with a successful solo career, which has included work as a sessions musician, soundtrack work (he performed the theme song for “Welcome Back, Kotter”), authoring a children’s book, “JB’s Harmonica,” and work as a guitar, harmonica and autoharp instructor through a series of instructional DVDs, CDs and booklets including “An Easy Guide to Tuning Your Guitar” and “John Sebastian Teaches Eight Lovin’ Spoonful hits (and “Welcome Back”).”
