GSL basketball: Niveya Henley helps Mt. Spokane girls outlast Cashmere on the road

Niveya Henley scored 21 points and Mt. Spokane (9-0) went on the road to beat Cashmere (7-1) of the 1A Caribou Trial League 67-56 in nonleague girls basketball on Friday.

Emily Nelson and Averi Adams added 12 points apiece for the Wildcats.

Cashmere was led by all-state guard Hailey Van Lith with 40 points.

Cashmere trimmed its deficit to three late, but Henley drilled back-to-back 3s, Adams followed with a third and the Wildcats pulled away.

Cheney 74, Shadle Park 41: Maggie Smith scored 20 points, Aijia Loffredi added 18 and the host Blackhawks (2-5) beat the Highlanders (1-8). Emma Evans had 12 points for Cheney. Madison Fager paced Shadle with 14.

Eastmont 70, Rogers 18: Britt Vaughn scored 16 points and the Wildcats (3-4) of the Big 9 Conference routed the visiting Pirates (0-9). Dyanni Sijonn-Pascal led Rogers with six points.

Boys

Cheney 60, Shadle Park 59: Nicolas Berman’s buzzer-beater lifted the Blackhawks (4-3) over the Highlanders (5-3). Berman finished with 13 points. DaMarius Brown led Shadle Park with 16.

Eastmont 87, Rogers 81 (3OT): Isaac Wellborn scored 34 points and the Wildcats (5-2) outlasted the visiting Pirates (2-7). Eastmont went on a 12-6 run in the third OT. Gavyn Belthof led Rogers with 21 points and Evan Nomee added 20.
