Gonzaga’s Nina Novilla ties for eighth place at West Coast Conference golf championships
SANTEE, Calif. – Gonzaga’s Nina Novilla tied for eighth place as the West Coast Conference golf championships wrapped up Wednesday at Carlton Oaks Golf Club.
Novilla completed three rounds at 13-over-par 229, including two birdies on the back nine to cap her tournament.
The Zags’ Jessica Mangrobang, the first-round leader, tied for 11th with teammate Diana Araneta at 232. Mangrobang had a final-round 75, tops for the team on the day.
The Bulldogs placed fourth among five teams at 933, 33 shots behind co-champions BYU and Pepperdine.
BYU’s Rose Huang won individual honors by seven shots with a 214, including a final-round 3-under 69.
Senior David Ganz led the GU men, tying for 19th at 3-over 219. He made 15 pars on his way to a final-round 74.
GU’s Ben DuBois placed 28th at 223.
Clay Feagler, at 14-under 202, won medalist honors by eight strokes and led Pepperdine (26-under 838) to the team title by 25 shots over Saint Mary’s.
The Zags (886) placed ninth and last.
