Chewelah-born singer Allen Stone to appear on ‘American Idol’

Set those DVRs, Spokane; Chewelah’s own Allen Stone will appear on “American Idol” tonight at 8 p.m.

Stone, who performed at Zola in March and will open for Andrew McMahon in the Wilderness at the Bing Crosby Theater on May 20, will perform his song “Unaware” with contestant Dennis Lorenzo.

Tonight’s episode finds each contestant paired with a celebrity singer for a duet. The episode will also feature performances by Aloe Blacc, Bishop Briggs, Andy Grammer, Sugarland, Luis Fonsi and Train’s Patrick Monahan.

On April 16, Stone will return to “American Idol” to perform with contestant Marcio Donaldson. Lea Michele, Banners, Bebe Rexha, Cam, Colbie Caillat and Rachel Platten will also perform next week.
