Construction

The Spokane Chapter No. 143 of the National Association of Women in Construction has announced its officers and board of directors for 2017-18. New members include: President Talia Brestar, Central PreMix; Vice President Andrea Seeberger, Lydig Construction; Secretary Dotty Johnson, Bouton Construction Co.; and Treasurer Jodi Martinez, AllStar Glass Co. Directors are Kathryn Piraino, Vandervert Construction; Sarah Cottam, Associated Builders and Contractors; and Kathleen Johnson, of Garco Construction.

Education

Chrissy Davis Jones, acting vice president of student services at Spokane Falls Community College, has been named Community College Professional of the Year for the region. The award was presented by NASPA, an association for the advancement, health and sustainability of the student affairs profession.

Washington State University has announced Heather Redman as the newest member of the Board of Regents. Redman is the co-founder and managing partner of Flying Fish Partners, a venture capital firm in Seattle. Before founding Flying Fish Partners in 2016, Redman worked at AtomShockwave Inc., Getty Images Inc. and PhotoDisc Inc.

Lisa Calvert has been named vice president for advancement at Washington State University and CEO of the WSU Foundation. In the role, Calvert will be the chief fundraising officer at the university and oversee both the WSU Foundation and the Alumni Association. Calvert is currently the vice chancellor for institutional advancement and chief operating officer of the foundation board for the Texas Tech University System and has more than 30 years of experience in development and fundraising.

Health

Summit Cancer Centers has hired medical oncologist Dr. Steven Rosinski. Rosinski treats all types of cancer, but specializes in benign and malignant hematology, including leukemia and lymphoma, after working as an attending physician at the University of Washington’s Bone Marrow Transplant Unit. Rosinski is also the author of multiple first-author publications in oncology research, and is board certified in oncology, hematology and internal medicine.

Brenna Harris, D.O., has joined Palouse Regional Hospital and will provide family medicine and obstetrical care. Harris most recently was chief resident of family medicine and obstetrics at MultiCare East Pierce Family Medicine in Puyallup, Washington.

Insurance

Alliant Americas has announced three hires. Annagrace Mosier has been hired as a claims technical assistant. She comes to Alliant from a real estate office in Georgia. Commercial account assistant Daniel Dormady comes to Alliant from Travelers Insurance. Earl Adolphson has been hired as assistant vice president; he has more than 40 years of insurance experience.

Music

Brian Bonnell and Meagan Gillis have joined the Spokane Symphony. Bonnell plays the double bass and has performed with the Rochester Philharmonic, North Carolina Symphony and Civic Orchestra of Chicago. Gillis, principal timpanist, has been a member of the Maryland Symphony Orchestra and has performed with the Cleveland Orchestra, Fort Worth Symphony, Auckland Philharmonic, Columbus Symphony and Mansfield Symphony.

Miscellaneous

Chris Horgan has been recognized as the Outstanding Young Water Environment Professional of the Year by the Pacific Northwest Clean Water Association, recognizing contributions to the PNCWA and wastewater collection and treatment industry. Horgan works at Coeur d’Alene’s J-U-B Engineers.

The Spokane Estate Planning Council has been awarded the Leonard H. Neiman and Walter Lee Davis Jr. Council of Excellence Award from the National Association of Estate Planners and Councils. The award recognizes a council that provides a strong multidisciplinary environment for planners and grows programs and services to improve member experiences.

Public Relations

DH, a Spokane-based public relations and advertising firm, has hired Danajo Cole as director of finance and Molly McNamara as account coordinator. Cole has experience as a controller, chief financial officer and director of finance in a variety of industries and owned an advertising firm in Seattle in the 1990s. McNamara recently graduated from Gonzaga and will work on accounts in government campaigns and health care.

Transportation

Spokane International Airport CEO Larry Krauter has received the Airport Executive of the Year award. The award is presented by the Northwest Chapter of the American Association of Airport Executives.
