Man dies in early morning Post Falls wreck

A 23-year-old man died early Friday morning when the car he was traveling in shot off the road and struck a boulder in Post Falls.

Patrick Sparr and Derrick Starke, 23, were driving in a black BMW heading east on Fourth Avenue toward Seltice Way, according to a Idaho State Police news release. The vehicle, which was traveling at a “high rate of speed” went off the right shoulder and struck a boulder around 2 a.m. ISP said. It’s not clear who was driving the vehicle, according to the news release.

Sparr was pronounced dead on the scene. Starke was treated for minor injuries. Neither were wearing seat belts.

The investigation is ongoing.
