Gonzaga Final Four gear quickly sells out at campus store, but more is on the way

On Sunday, the Zag Shop at Gonzaga welcomed a shipment of more than 1,000 new shirts that celebrated the Zags going to the Final Four.

On Monday, the new shirts were completely sold out.

“It’s quiet now, but it’s been crazy,” one employee said Monday afternoon.

Zag shop employees said during the first two hours of opening their doors Monday morning, the store was flooded with Zag fans wanting the shirt that commemorated Gonzaga’s historical achievement in the NCAA Tournament.

The shirt features “Final Four” printed in the center over an outline of downtown Phoenix.

A white basketball emerges from the top of the skyline with “GU” and the Gonzaga bulldog printed in the top center of the shirt.

Zag Shop employees said they hope to receive another shipment of shirts by Wednesday.

Fans can order short- and long-sleeved shirts online from the Zag Shop at www.bkstr.com. T-shirts were selling in the Zag Shop for $22. Navy blue long-sleeved shirts with Final Four in white printed over a red basketball are available for $32 online.

Other websites have a variety of Final Four shirts for sale for roughly $30 each.

There are a number of different designs available, including shirts that feature all the Final Four teams, Gonzaga, South Carolina, Oregon and North Carolina.

Fans won’t find other Final Four shirts in stores around Spokane like they did when the Zags were voted No. 1 in the AP Top 25 list earlier this year because of NCAA rules prohibiting outside T-shirt companies from printing “Final Four.”

Finding a Final Four shirt specifically for Gonzaga might be easier in Spokane than in Arizona.

KHQ’s Morgan Marum went T-shirt hunting in the Phoenix metro area on Monday and was only able to find a variety of generic Final Four shirts.
