Cameron Bushey will lead Spokane Shadow soccer team
Cameron Bushey is the new head coach of the Spokane Shadow men’s first team, the team announced Wednesday.
Bushey, the son of former Whitworth coach Sean Bushey, takes over from Chad Brown, who won two league championships the past three years.
“I am excited about the opportunity to coach our Shadow first team as it is the pinnacle of the club – the top of the pyramid,” said Bushey, who has been a youth coach in the club since 2009.
Bushey, a Whitworth product, also had a three-year stint at Colorado Rush, where he also served as Director of Coaching and assistant coach for the club’s W-League team.
Sean Bushey served in the same role for the Shadow from 1997-1999, leading the team to the PDL Final in 1999. Like his father, Cameron Bushey will serve as the second head coach for the new era of the Shadow men’s team.
“We look forward to Cameron leading Spokane’s soccer team. His energy, his passion are items that will be reflected by the team,” SSC Shadow Technical Director Abbas Faridnia said. “With us stepping into a nationwide league, we are excited that Cameron is leading us group.”
