Keep cool at the pool: Hours of operation for facilities across Spokane

Pools across Spokane will open their regular seasons over the next few days. Here are the hours of operation and costs for 11 aquatic centers in the area. Open swim periods are listed below, but many of these facilities are open at additional times for lap swimmers and other water activities.

City of Spokane

The six aquatic centers in the city of Spokane welcome at least 110,000 visitors each summer.

The regular season for aquatics centers in Spokane City starts June 19 and ends August 26.

Hours: Open swim hours are 1:00 p.m. – 4:00 p.m. everyday and every aquatic center, except Witter Aquatic Center, offers additional hours Monday through Thursday 6:30 p.m. – 8:00 p.m.

Cost: Costs vary with age. Children three and under have free admission, children 4-17 pay $2, adults 18+ pay $4, and seniors 65+ pay $2. Season passes are available as well.

Aquatic Centers: A.M. Cannon Aquatic Center (1900 W. Mission), Comstock Aquatic Center (600 W. 29th), Hillyard Aquatic Center (2600 E. Columbia Ave.), Liberty Aquatic Center (1300 E. 5th Ave.), Shadle Aquatic Center (2005 W. Wellesley), Witter Aquatic Center (1300 E. Mission).

City of Spokane Valley

Exactly 31,325 swimmers visited the three pools in Spokane Valley during the summer of 2016.

Hours: Open swim is available between 1:00 – 5:00 p.m. and 5:30 – 8:00 p.m.

Cost: $1 per person and children under five have free admission.

Park Road Pool (906 N. Park Road) has its regular season between June 19 and August 27. It does not offer open swim after 4:30 p.m. on Wednesdays.

Terrace View Pool (13525 E. 24th Ave.) opens its regular season on June 19 and closes on September 4. On Wednesdays from June 20 to July 29, there are no open swim periods between 5:30 p.m. and 8:00 p.m.

Valley Mission Pool (11123 E. Mission) starts regular season June 17 and closes August 26. On weekdays from Aug. 1 to Sept. 4, there will be no open swim between 5:30 p.m. and 8:00 p.m.

Spokane County

The aquatic facilities in Spokane County received 52,654 visitors in the summer months of last year.

Hours: Open swim hours are 11:00 a.m. – 5:30 p.m. everyday.

Cost: Free admission for children 2 and under, $2.50 for children aged 3 to 5, $5 for those aged 6 to 59, and $4 for those above 60. Season passes are available.

Aquatic Centers: Northside Family Aquatics Facility (801 E. Handy Road) and Southside Family Aquatics Facility (3724 E. 61st Avenue)
