Spokane native and Ferris High alum Andrew Kittredge made his MLB debut for the Tampa Bay Rays on Tuesday.

Kittredge entered the Rays’ game against Oakland in the eighth inning with Tampa Bay trailing 3-2. He pitched two-thirds of an inning and didn’t allow a run.

Kittredge struck out Jaycob Brugman, then allowed a single to Rajai Davis before coaxing a grounder to short by Marcus Semien, forcing Davis at second. Kittredge, who pitched at the University of Washington, was then lifted for Adam Kolarek, who ended the inning striking out Yonder Alonso.

The Rays rallied for two runs in the ninth to win 4-3.

Kittredge was a Triple-A All-Star this season for the International League Durham Bulls, held last week in Tacoma.
