EWU’s Jacob Wiley named co-Big Sky Conference player of the week

Jacob Wiley, a Newport, Washington, native and senior graduate transfer forward for the Eastern Washington Eagles, was named co-Big Sky Conference men’s basketball player of the week after scoring 63 points in two games.

Wiley shared the award with Sacramento State’s Nick Hornsby.

Wiley scored 27 points in a win over Idaho State last Thursday and poured in a career-high 36 points, the 16th-highest point total in EWU history, against Weber State in a three-point loss. He shot 78 percent from the field over the two games..

The senior forward has scored in double figures in 16 of the Eagles’ 18 games this season and is averaging 16.6 points and 8.2 rebounds.

His 62.1 shooting percentage is 15th in the nation and third in the Big Sky.

Wiley transferred to EWU from Lewis-Clark State, where he earned first-team NAIA All-America honors. He started his career at Montana.
