Mikayla Ferenz scores 32 points and Idaho women beat Weber State
Mikayla Ferenz scored 32 points, her third 30-plus point effort of the season, and Idaho (15-12, 10-6) overcame a nine-point third-quarter deficit to beat Big Sky Conference foe Weber State 82-77 on Saturday in Ogden, Utah.
Ferenz finished 11 of 20 from the field after starting just 1 of 4 in the first quarter.
Geraldine McCorkell recorded her fifth double-double of the season with 25 points and 10 rebounds.
Idaho finished the final 3:40 of the third quarter on a 12-1 run, gaining a 65-63 lead. Ferenz and Taylor Pierce contributed five points apiece in the stretch, while the Weber offense hit a wall, going 1 of 7 from the field.
Ferenz added a 3-pointer to put the Vandals back up by 76-70 with 2:28 to play. Free throws from McCorkell, Ferenz and Reilly in the final 16 seconds closed out the win.
Deezhyra Thomas led Weber State with 26 points.
Idaho closes out the regular season with a pair of home games next week.
