Ex-Zag Kyle Wiltjer makes NBA Rockets’ roster
Former Gonzaga Bulldog Kyle Wiltjer has made the Houston Rockets’ roster, according to the Houston Chronicle.
Wiltjer, an undrafted rookie free agent, had a solid preseason, averaging 8.3 points in 14.8 minutes per game. He connected on 47.5 percent on his field-goal attempts, including 41.7 percent on 3-pointers.
Houston waived veteran point guard Pablo Prigioni and three others Monday, helping open up a spot for Wiltjer on the 15-man roster, the newspaper reported.
The Rockets open the season against the Lakers in Los Angeles on Wednesday.
Wiltjer averaged 16.8 points as a junior and 20.4 points as a senior at Gonzaga. He played his first two seasons at Kentucky.
