With 8:41 left in the second quarter, Robert Taylor returned a kick that shifted momentum in WSU’s favor and cut ASU’s lead to 14-10. After the game, both offensive and defensive players credited Taylor’s return with energizing the team at a crucial point in the game.

Gabe Marks caught a beautiful pass from Luke Falk while streaking down the sideline, and ran it into the end zone. the 52-yard score put WSU up 37-21. It also gave Marks 30 career touchdowns, good for No. 2 in school history.
High pressure
On the drive after Tim White returned a punt for for a touchdown and ASU’s subsequent two-point conversion, the Sun Devils stopped WSU’s offense with consecutive sacks of Luke Falk. This forced WSU to give the ball back with 9:22 left in the game and just an eight-point lead.
