Gonzaga climbs to No. 11 in polls

Gonzaga moved up three spots to No. 11 in the AP and USA Today college basketball rankings.

The Zags (3-0), who open against Quinnipiac on Thursday in the AdvoCare Invitational in Orlando, defeated San Diego State and Bryant last week.

Arizona, Gonzaga’s opponent Dec. 3 in Los Angeles, is No. 8 in AP and No. 9 in the coaches’ poll. WCC rival Saint Mary’s, which outlasted Dayton on the road, climbed two spots to No. 15 in both polls. Iowa State, a potential opponent in Orlando, is No. 21 in AP, No. 22 in USA Today.

Kentucky moved into the top spot in both polls, replacing Duke. Villanova, Indiana, North Carolina and Kansas round out the AP top five. Villanova, Duke, North Carolina and Indiana fill out the USA Today’s top five.
