From staff reports

The FBI is continuing its search for a fugitive North Idaho doctor who was convicted of 66 federal drug charges earlier this week.

Rafael L.W. Beier, 62, failed to show up in U.S. District Court in Idaho to hear his verdict. He was convicted of selling narcotic prescriptions to people who were not his patients.

Beier worked out of Pinehurst, Idaho and his last known address was in Kingston, Idaho. He is a six-foot-tall, 175-pound white man with blond hair and blue eyes.

Beier is considered armed and dangerous, the FBI said. Anyone with information about his whereabouts should contact the FBI’s Salt Lake City Field Office in Coeur d’Alene at (208) 665-4455.

This story has been updated to correct Beier’s age.
