Age 80


MARX, Helen Mirenna

On March 16, 2016 Helen Mirenna Marx received her angel wings.

She passed away surrounded by love and family at Community Home Health and Hospice in Longview, WA.

She was a loving wife, mother and Granny.

She and her smile and contagious laugh will be greatly missed.
Helen Mirenna Jessee was born October 22, 1935 to Herbert and Mirenna (Hanna) Jessee in Colville, WA.

She was the oldest of their two children.

Helen married her High School sweetheart from Kettle Falls High School, Jim Marx, on August 15, 1954.

They were married at Fort Campbell, Kentucky where Jim was stationed as an Army Paratrooper.

Their daughter, Debbie, was born in 1955, followed by their son, Mitch, in 1957 and their daughter, Sheila, in 1961.

Jim, Helen and family moved to Bonners Ferry, Idaho in May 1964 when Jim took a transfer/position with Washington Water Power (now Avista) Helen started working for First Security Bank of Idaho in February 1968.

She started as a bookkeeper and over the years worked her way up to Assistant Manager, which was the position she held when she retired in 1991.
Helen gave many hours to the community through volunteer efforts as a member of Jaycettes, Beta, PEO and served on the first Fry Foundation Board.

She enjoyed her time and the relationships she built through these organizations.

Jim and Helen were also faithful members of the local St. Ann’s Catholic Church.
Helen was a kind and generous woman.

She had a passion for books and reading and loved movies (especially Disney movies).

Her first job was at a movie theater.

Her favorite thing to do was to spend time with her family.

She also had a great love of travel.
Helen was preceded in death by her parents, her brother, Howard Jessee and her first great-grandchild, baby Albert DaSilva.
Helen is survived by her loving husband, Jim of Longview, WA, daughter Debbie (John) Barnett of Spokane, WA, son Mitch (Shirley) Marx of Lewiston, ID and daughter Sheila (Aaron) Sandaker of Longview, WA.

; grandchildren Sarah (Alby) DaSilva, Melissa Barnett, Brian (Sarah) Marx, Amy (Michael) Richardson, Andy Barnett, Kimberly (Pat) Starkey and Josh (Sarah) Sandaker; great- grandchildren Antonio and Nickolas DaSilva, Lily and Kalli Aguilar, Annabelle Marx, Kaitlyn, Lauryn, Kynlee and Laynee Richardson, Caden and Eloise Starkey and Ava Sandaker.
Helen had a graveside service and burial in Colville, WA on March 23rd.

The family will also be having a celebration of Helen’s life on Saturday, May 14, 2016 at the United Methodist Church in Bonners Ferry, Idaho at 11:30 am followed by lunch.

Helen’s family would like to invite family and friends to join us.
