Vote responsibly

Recently I’ve been talking to people about our presidential election. I’ve heard statements such as, “In all good conscience, I can’t vote for Donald Trump and I’m surely not voting for Hillary, so I guess I won’t vote.”

Donald Trump was not my first choice either, but now that he is the presumptive nominee for the Republicans, I am going to vote for him. Trump has stated that he does and will support the Republican Party platform and will appoint conservative federal judges and Supreme Court justices.

That’s my vote: God, American, moral values, and securing the future for our children and grandchildren. For the responsible citizen, to not vote is not a choice and to vote for a third-party candidate simply aids the opposition.

We need to exercise our privilege and responsibility in voting and not give America away by default.
