Suspected home intruder shot dead in NW Spokane
A northwest Spokane resident shot and killed what he believed to be a home intruder Saturday night, Spokane police said.
Police responded to a report of shots fired in the 6500 block of North Assembly Street, north of West Francis avenue, just after 10 p.m. A woman had called to say her husband shot an intruder.
Officers found a male with an apparent gunshot wound at the front of the house and began lifesaving measures. That male later died of his injuries.
Spokane Police Major Crimes detectives are investigating the shooting. No one else was injured during the incident and there are no outstanding suspects, police said.
The identity of the deceased male will be released by the Spokane County Medical Examiner’s Office.
