The Spokesman-Review 2016 Readers Outdoor Photo Gallery captures flow of seasons

You covered the region like the stars this year. Indeed, you covered the stars, too.

Readers who shared their photos helped The Spokesman-Review document the region’s outdoors in 2016, from the earth to the heavens and the wealth of flora, fauna and outdoor recreation in between.

Photos from backyards to remote wilderness areas were uploaded into the Readers Photos section of the Outdoors web page. Editors selected one a week to run in the Thursday Outdoors print section.

Today we’re looking back with a sampling of photos from the past 12 months, including some that were not published.

These aren’t necessarily the best photos submitted from a technical point of view. While some great images were shared by photographers with expertise, we also were impressed with images made by people who simply got out there with a sharp eye for the things that lure us outdoors.

Enjoy these images. They capture the spirit of the months as we marched through 2016. They give us a sense of the flow of seasons, nature and outdoor pursuits throughout the Inland Northwest.
