Motorcyclist dies in U.S. Highway 12 crash near Yakima

YAKIMA – A 70-year-old man died in a motorcyle-Jeep crash on U.S. Highway 12 outside of Yakima Saturday evening, authorities said.

A woman riding on the motorcycle with him was taken to a local hospital for treatment.

No names were released pending notification of relatives.

The motorcycle and a Jeep collided about 5 p.m. while eastbound just west of the interchange exit to Selah and Interstate 82. Further information was not immediately available from the Washington State Patrol.

Traffic was disrupted for about two hours while state troopers worked at the scene.
