Majority of Spokane residents’ power restored following outage affecting 30,000
A car hit a transmission pole around 4 a.m. Wednesday, causing a power outage that affected more than 30,000 people in the Spokane area, Avista Utilities reported.
As of 7:45 a.m., that number had been cut down to about 380 customers.
Avista is reporting that crews will need to replace the pole that was damaged by the accident this morning which may prolong the outage for some customers in the Valley.
Due to the power outage, Gonzaga Prep was not to start until 9 a.m. Wednesday morning.
